History

CLARENA was founded from a passion for creation. The company’s originator and creator is Patricia Popławska – owner and President of the Board. CLARENA’s history begins more than 15 years ago, when Patricia Popławska opens a cosmetics store in the centre of Wrocław. This chemist’s distinguished itself with its range and approach to cosmetics sales – it was the first place in Wrocław where you could get advice from a cosmetician to choose a cream suiting your complexion, and stylists to help in choosing colored cosmetics. In the late 90s Patricia Popławska, interested in the emerging professional cosmetics market, decides to apply her business model to a larger scale.

Patricia Popławska decides to expand her operations - she creates a company which offers preparations and accessories for cosmeticians, and also professional skincare products for retail customers. However, she does not change her philosophy of an individual approach to beauty. CLARENA cosmetics are not available in chemist’s or retail outlets - skincare products for home use are selected on an individual basis by a qualified cosmetician working in cooperation with the company. The market situation is favorable to CLARENA - the number of salons starts to grow, and with this, there is an increased demand for cosmetics. Signing in 1999 a contract with Spanish company May Star, the company becomes the exclusive distributor for this brand in Poland. The products earn a great reputation nationwide, however client expectations increase. With attention to care for the innovativeness of preparations and high quality of cosmetic ingredients, the company expands its circle of partners to include reputable laboratories all over Europe - the cosmetics change their name to Clarena, and Mariposa Nail accessories for nail care and styling are included in the company’s range. Popławska also notices an increased market demand for professional treatment equipment - CLARENA therefore widens it’s offer to include Rubica equipment, an soon starts its own production line.

In 2009 CLARENA has four Cosmetics-Sales centres in Wrocław, Warsaw, Cracow and Szczecin. It also starts to expand into overseas markets. Clarena products and equipment are currently sold in, among others, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Romania, Spain, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Czech Republic, Norway, Belgium, Bulgaria, Portugal, Holland and Belarus. A distribution agreement has also been signed with a Hong Kong partner.
Today CLARENA employees 130 employees and distributes its cosmetics to over five thousand cosmetic salons in Poland.

EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES:
Patricia Popławska recognized that to stand out in the market, she must ensure a complete approach to the client. CLARENA has become an expert in the cosmetics sector - the first on the market to introduce training for cosmeticians. Training is now presently conducted in all CLARENA centres: in Warsaw, Wrocław, Cracow and Szczecin. In response to market needs, CLARENA opens a postsecondary school specializing in Micro pigmentation, and next widens its educational offer with a new and attractive specialization - Podiatry. In addition to running a school and training sessions, CLARENA organizes cyclical events such as Massage Forum, Podiatry Forum or Micro pigmentation Championships.
